Residents of Tabasalu and Tiskre can test Omniva’s private parcel lockers
Omniva is inviting residents of private homes and terraced houses, as well as small businesses in Tabasalu and Tiskre, to take part in the Picapac pilot project, under which private parcel lockers will be installed at selected homes for receiving, sending and returning parcels.
“We have already tested Picapac in several areas of Harju County and can see that there is clear interest in a parcel locker located right at people’s homes. Now we want to try it in Tabasalu and Tiskre as well – areas where people value convenience, time savings and having everydayservices as close to home as possible,” said Aleksei Kolesnikov, Product Manager of Picapac at Omniva.
Picapac is a private parcel locker installed at the customer’s home and connected to Omniva’s parcel locker network. In addition to Omniva, the solution can also be used by other parcel delivery companies, food couriers and various service providers. The private parcel locker is wellsuited for people who use parcel services frequently and want to do so as conveniently as possible, without waiting for a courier or driving to a parcel locker.
“People expect parcel services to fit into their daily lives, not the other way around. While people used to drive to parcel lockers, parcel services are now moving closer and closer to customers’ homes. The Picapac pilot helps us test how such a solution works in practice in residentialareas across Estonia,” said Martti Kuldma, CEO of Omniva.
Participants in the pilot project will be able to use the Picapac solution free of charge for three months, including free installation and transport. Under normal conditions, Picapac installation and use are paid services.
Omniva’s aim is to assess demand for private parcel lockers in Tabasalu and Tiskre and to understand how such a solution fits into people’s daily routines in these areas. The pilot project will also give the company an opportunity to test how parcel infrastructure brought closer topeople’s homes can help make last-mile logistics more efficient and flexible.
Those interested in joining the pilot project can fill in the application form HERE. The number of places in the project is limited and Omniva will contact suitable candidates directly.
If the pilot project proves successful, Omniva plans to expand the Picapac solution to other residential areas across Estonia.
